Special Needs, Special Teachers
On the day of our visit to our partnership school for children with severe learning and physical disabilities we watched children in an arts and crafts workshop and a school assembly, as well as speaking with staff. We were also invited to observe a sign language session with the full-time speech therapist and teacher of the deaf; a number of pupils have hearing and speech impairments, including those with no hearing and/or speech at all. The combination of skill, patience, enjoyment and progress was wonderful to see.
